1972 Montesa Cota 247 - trials bike

COMMENTS: This trials bike arrived not running and needing a mechanical service and some cosmetic work. We replaced the kick start spring, adjusted the points & set the timing, installed a gasket on the flywheel cover to stop leaks, repaired the wiring from the stator to the coil, rebuild the Amal carburetor, repair several damaged areas on the fiberglass fuel tank/seat, then painted the tank/seat & added decals, repainted the cylinder barrel, and re-welded the rear fender bracket. The owner now can ride his vintage bike knowing it's reliable and looks good, too.
